Jessica Braithwaite to Host Talks in Ten Program at Science Alive's STEM Day Out

Science Alive's STEM Day Out is set to feature a special guest as Jessica Braithwaite, the esteemed weather presenter for Nine News Adelaide, takes the stage as the MC for the highly anticipated Talks in Ten program. With her vibrant on-screen presence and deep-rooted passion for STEM, Braithwaite's involvement promises to elevate the event's appeal.

Born and raised in South Australia, Jessica Braithwaite holds a certificate in meteorology and has covered some of the world's most significant weather events, including typhoons, cyclones, bushfires, and heatwaves. Her expertise and firsthand experiences bring a unique perspective to the Talks in Ten program, where she will guide attendees through a series of engaging and informative sessions.

In addition to her meteorological credentials, Braithwaite boasts a double degree in Journalism and International Studies. Her career spans across radio and television, both domestically and internationally, and includes work as a travel reporter for notable outlets such as Australian Traveler Magazine, Flight Centre, Tiger Airways, and Signature Luxury Travel & Style Magazine.

Beyond her journalism career, Braithwaite is a talented singer and guitarist. She has performed at major events such as the Big Day Out, the Tour Down Under, and the Adelaide International Guitar Festival. Her original music has been broadcast on Triple J, ABC Radio, SAFM, Nova, and Rage, showcasing her multifaceted talents.

Braithwaite's commitment to giving back is evident in her volunteer work. In late 2015, she spent time at a South African orphanage, running music classes and assisting children with their reading and writing. Her dedication to making a difference extends to her role as the South Australian ambassador for Save the Children Australia.
